Job Summary:The position is a Media Specialist at Abraham Clark High School for the 2024-2025 School Year. From September 2024 - June 2025.

Qualifications:

Appropriate NJDOE certification.Provide Technical Support to students & staffHave a thorough understanding of Media LiteracyAssembles collections of media that support the curriculumEstablish a system for the use of the Media Center and its resources.Create and implement daytime and afterschool programs for studentsBecome part of PLCs and serve as a resource for the staff when addressing effective online research; a skill that students will need in high school and beyond.Serve as technical support for students who require changes in Google Passwords.Assist in teaching students "soft skills" they will utilize in their future education or employment.Publish and update content on the library's website (e.g. book summaries, reviews, blog, etc.)Assess district's literacy resources needs and present strategic plan for execution.Eliminates out-dated, inappropriate and unsuitable materials.Conduct regular checks and updates on database informationHelp p atrons research reading materials and referencesAnswer students and staff questions & email.Manage the library budgeting and billing for new equipmentAssists staff and students to ensure technology is utilized to the fullest extent possible through meaningful integration into the adopted curriculum.Research and implement best practices for new information system techniquesFamiliar with Common Core Standards.Comprehensive certifications preferred.Strong disciplinary and organizational skills.Ability to work as a member of a team.Ability to exercise good judgment and promote a safe and secure learning environment.
