Job Duties
To transport food products, meat, raw and processed milk, commodities and equipment in a safe and timely manner. To ensure prompt and accurate delivery of milk and other food products while maintaining inmate custody and public safety. To provide support to Agribusiness farming/crop operations on an as needed/seasonal basis.This is a hourly position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The hourly employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All hourly employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This hourly position offers no state benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of high school or equivalent. Possession of valid state motor vehicles operator's license. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Successful completion of prescribed physical exam by a qualified physician. Maintenance of vehicles for transport. Demonstrated ability to operate heavy duty trucks. Skilled in customer service techniques and teamwork. General knowledge of farming and agricultural production. Demonstrated ability to follow direction and supervise others in all aspects of modern farm techniques and technology.
Additional Considerations
Experience managing a an agricultural or corrections operation. Tanker endorsement and milk handler's permit, or ability to obtain both within 60 days of hiring.
