About UsAmazon Medical Project is a U.S. based nonprofit organization that funds and supports the Yanamono Medical Clinic in the Amazon River basin of northeastern Peru. The clinic was founded in 1990 by Dr. Linnea J. Smith, M.D. and is staffed year-round by local clinicians. The Clinic provides primary medical care and preventive medicine to community members that live in this rural region of the Amazon.About the RoleWe are currently seeking a social media intern to assist in a range of marketing initiatives within our organization. Duties include creating social media posts, developing a social media plan and schedule, responding to comments and messages on our platforms, and tracking analytics for campaigns.Responsibilities:Assist with the design and execution of social media campaignsManage and maintain our social media presence across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedInCreate and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos and press releases on social media as well as through traditional news outletsTrack social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalabilityPerform social media marketing researchAssist on influencer campaign strategyRespond to comments and DMs on social media platformsAssist with public relations efforts, including media outreach and press releasesBrainstorm and research ideas for original contentCreate compelling graphics to share across social channelsWrite social media captions that speak to our target audienceHelp create and edit short-form videosDevelop new strategies for increasing engagementAssist with photo/video content shootsEnsure brand message is consistentRequirements:Experience in content managementBasic copywriting skillsAbility to deliver creative content (text, image and video)Familiarity with content scheduling tools, like Hootsuite or similarLocation:RemoteCompensation & Time Commitment:There is no compensation for this role, however school credit can be applied.
