Insurance Coverage Associate or Special Counsel Attorney

Kennedys, a Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked global firm serving insurers and the London market , is seeking a Mid-Level Associate or Special Counsel Attorney with insurance coverage litigation experience to join its New York team. In this role, the attorney will represent insurance companies in coverage disputes and advise insurance companies in a variety of coverage matters. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing global law firm.
Candidates should have a strong litigation background, with experience analyzing coverage issues, drafting coverage opinions, pleadings, and dispositive motions, and conducting discovery in insurance coverage litigation and other commercial litigation. The ideal candidate also will have taken and defended depositions, attended court conferences, and argued motions.
The annualized salary range for this role is $125,000-$210,000; however, actual salary is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Required experience
Minimum of 3 years of law firm insurance coverage' and litigation experienceMust be licensed in New YorkLicensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Delaware a huge plusSuperior research, writing and communication skillsExperience analyzing insurance policies and other relevant contractsAbility to handle all phases of the litigation process including drafting motions, pleadings, initial disclosures, discovery demands, discovery responses and other court documentsExperience in drafting settlement agreements, taking depositions, conference and handling appealsProven and solid courtroom experience, conferences and handling appealsArbitration and/or trial experience is beneficial
