Overview

The Operations Training Specialist is responsible for creating content, directing, teaching and facilitating training activities for a residential operations / manufacturing segment (retail or wholesale), as well as lead various other training and development initiatives.

This individual will partner with operations leadership across the organization to assess training needs and requirements.

This role is responsible for the creation of training programs, materials, process maps, navigations guides and other collateral for all operations training. This includes the writing of, reviewing, and editing content of their own and others, while also facilitating training classes in person and virtually.

Content creation will likely be 25% of their role, 75% of their role will be teaching and facilitating sessions, with the majority of time focused on supervisor development.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Creates, design and facilitates supervisor training programs for manufacturing team leads and production supervisorsDesigns and supports the deployment of new hire onboarding programsCreates and partners to develop "day 3 and beyond" training and mentoring programs for production employeesCreates and maintains training materials including job aids, skill assessments/test, multimedia visual aids. Supports the development and maintenance of online web training materials and tutorials that enhances the performance of operations teams.Collaborates with learning & development teams to identify best practices and evaluate overall effectiveness of training.Creates an engaged workforce that leads to the reduction in turnover and development of employeesEnsures that operations organizational training needs and expectations are met on a consistent basis.Performs administrative tasks such as monitoring costs within budget, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, uploading new employee information into required systems, and coordinating curriculum enrollmentMinimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred3-5 years of training related experiences. Training experience within an operations / manufacturing environment is preferred. Having prior leadership roles within an operations environment is a plus.DDI certification a plusKnowledge of employee training and development methodologies and instructional designAbility to successfully lead training initiatives. Able to conduct classroom training and facilitate meetings.Self-starter, flexible and able to work on time sensitive projects with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate effectively across all levels while building strong working relationships. Able to build credibility while being on the manufacturing floor.Excellent verbal and written communications skillsPassionate about teaching and mentoring others.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook including training database experienceWorking knowledge of learning management software. Experience with Workday, Moodle and Linkedin Learning a plus.Able to travel up to 50% of the time.Experience partnering with external training vendors and universities / colleges / technical schools.Experience in developing and putting developmental programs together such as rotational programs, leadership development programs, apprenticeships, curriculum development, etc.Experience developing and deploying technical training
