We leverage data for actionable business outcomes, improving operational performance and analytics insight. Our goal is to deliver the highest level of data quality, integrity, privacy, availability, security, and usability for all data stakeholders.As a Data Governance Privacy Steward, you will be part of the Enterprise Data and Analytics Office and data privacy transformation. You will impact people, process, and technologies by implementing the data privacy governance framework in alignment with our business partners in legal, compliance, security and data solutions. In this role, you are ensuring data privacy policies are executed in the transactional, master data and analytics applications of the organization, orchestrating the adoption of best practices across all business units. You will oversee the disciplined execution and adoption of the data management framework.Our ideal candidate is a relationship builder, catalyst and facilitator. You have a deep background in data analytics and over five years experience with data privacy and protection.Responsibilities* Develop knowledge on Edwards customer/employee data ecosystem, leverage that knowledge to support privacy and compliance data usage* Implement controls across our data eco-system and drive customer centric privacy solutions in our operations and analytics solutions* Create, identify and maintain privacy related attributions, tagging, classifications, accessibility of data, ownership and implementation of data policies and documentation of data lineage.* Collaborate with cross functional teams to apply privacy by design principles* Translate business needs into priorities for technical data mappings. Guide and review the technical implementation requirements* Build and maintain high quality processes for on-going regulatory and compliance controls while managing audits and processes.* Manage the solutions and enhancement for GDPR and CCPA* Communicate risk assessment and/or audit finding to management, develop improvements in the design and effectiveness of controls* Create and maintain required documentation, include data inventory, data maps, records of processing activities to ensure Edwards data collection and usage practices are transparent, protect user privacy and mitigate risk.* Conduct technical reviews for data operations and analytics to identify privacy and other data governance concerns, assist in the development of mitigation plans.* Participate in privacy components of supplier and customer risk management activities and monthly audits.* Assess and manage review process of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), analyzing responses to identify risks involving the collection, access, use, protection, storage and destruction of personal and/or sensitive information* Partner with Security team to help identify security risks for further analysis* Lead data inventorying, data processing, business process documentation projects with data owners across the organization, and other efforts to maintain proper Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs)* Work closely with the Legal Privacy team to gather global regulatory and legal requirements, document them, and translate them to business unit and region-specific guidelines and standards for allowed technology and business processes* Act as a subject matter expert in day-to-day privacy operational matters, providing data privacy and data protection expertise to our business partners* This resource will also assist in developing the privacy program via creating/updating data security policies, authoring guidelines and playbooks to document Privacy Program processes and requirements, and improve the Privacy risk register and associated metrics/KPI reporting for assessing overall privacy compliance wellness in technical and analytical applicationsBasic Qualifications* Ability to be onsite at Global HQ for key meetings and events* Bachelor's degree; preferably in a quantitative STEM field* 12+ years of analytical experience, preferability in Information Technology or Data Office* 5+ years in Privacy experience with ability to apply critical thinking to Data Protection and Privacy objectives* Must have at least one of the following professional certifications: CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM, CIPP/C, CISSP* Advanced hands-on experience in operational and technical aspects of data privacy and protection* Excellent working knowledge of privacy and data protection laws & regulations, including COPPA, CCPA/CPRA, the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, HIPAA, etc* Knowledge of the use of various privacy compliance platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc) for privacy management* A strong reputation for integrity and ethics* A passion for user privacy and technology**About Edwards Lifesciences**Edwards Lifesciences is the global leader in patient-focused medical innovations for structural heart disease, as well as critical care and surgical monitoring.
