Description
JOB GOAL
Responsible for the College's data architecture including logical diagrams, database location, overall content and dictionary of data sets in order to help provide usable reports, queries, joins, archiving and warehousing, and to assist in aspects of data governance for all institutional data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for creating a high-level data architecture including creating organized visuals for data organization and location, including acquisition, staging, storage, archival / retention, redundancy and master data sets. Collaborates with peers in the Technology Division and Enterprise Applications team as well as the CIO, IT Strategic vendors and partners, Information Security and the Integration/Infrastructure leaders to maintain repositories for representing the data elements including the entities, relationships and attributes, the information flows, and College data dictionary. Designs the structure and security for data organization including databases, warehouses, and lakes. Defines data schemas, optimizing data storage, and establishing data access controls and security measures. Translates high-level business requirements into data needs, conversions, usable relational and big data, data models and appropriate test data and data quality standards. Leads and participates in the peer review and quality assurance of project architectural artifacts across the data architecture functions. Defines and manages standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure the highest levels of data quality and data security. Evaluates and recommends emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics Designs master data elements with a focus on interoperability across data assets to deliver transformative insights. Supports development and maintenance activities to ensure they are in-line with the enterprise architecture data models and roadmap defined therein. Encourages a data citizenship mindset, ensuring we all collectively take responsibility and accountability for the data we create, consume, manage and share. Summarizes and communicates the concepts of enterprise data and data architecture to stakeholders with various levels of comprehension. Assists with technology equipment set up as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree in Computer Science or related area from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of relevant full-time work experience in information systems. OR
Four (4) years of related work experience and PMP certification or PM education certificate may be substituted for Associate degree. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Experience in Higher Education especially data warehouses and lakes, ERP applications and education technology Data management, architecture skills and diagramming Vendor Relationship Management Motivated Self Starter Team oriented and Collaboration abilities Excellent communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member Ability to work occasional evening hours and weekends Ability to maintain a valid Florida driver's license Ability to maintain reliable transportation for travel between College locations Ability to pass a satisfactory back x-ray with the ability to lift 40 lbs. Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal history background check CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS
