Obstetrics and Gynecology Advanced Practice Provider Job Summary:Management of complex and independent patient evaluation and management functionProvide patient care commensurate with their level of advancement; competence and privileges, under the supervision of appropriately credentialed attendingExcellent interpersonal and communication skills integral, converses with patients in a manner that promotes understanding and develops positive clinician-patient relationships that helps to enhance good health outcomes. Strong analytical skills needed to study clinical situations correctly, and be compassionate to make the health of patients their priority and primary concernContribute to the collaborative patient care, to the research, teaching and consulting of patient care and provides leadership to Mercy Hospital (MH) and to the APP profession.Obstetrics and Gynecology Advanced Practice Provider Responsibilities:
Provide direct clinical services for obstetric and gynecological patients according to the established MH protocols and utilizes evidence based clinical practice standards under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed attendingPerform as the Team Member during a Rapid Response, Cardiac Arrest Code, Stroke Code, Pain Rapid Response, Sepsis Rapid Response, in the absence of a physicianProvide safe, effective and compassionate patient care and demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through and adhering to MH policies and participation in continuing medical education and perform bedside procedures commiserative with their competence and privileges under the supervision of appropriately credentialed attendingDevote attention and resources to provide the best customer service possible and performs as a role model of professionalism through conduct, appearance, communication, mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Demonstrate an awareness of and respect for the cultural diversity of co-workers, patients and customers treating all people with fairness and respectDocument patient plan of care by appropriate and prompt maintenance of medical records, orders, notes and timely signing of verbal and telephone ordersCollaborate with private attending in the completion of medical admissions by participating in medication reconciliation process, examines and identifies signs and symptoms to arrive at a plan of care and documents findings in a thorough progress noteOrder and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory testsExplain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedures to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare studentsAssess family coping skills and the need for crisis or other interventionsDemonstrate ongoing improvement/proficiency in bedside invasive and noninvasive procedures and maintains patient procedure logsObstetrics and Gynecology Advanced Practice Provider Qualifications:
Education-
B.S. or MPA degree in accredited Physician Assistant program or MSN in accredited Nurse Practitioner programExperience/skills-
2 years' experience preferredLicensure-
Current registration with NY Education Dept. as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.NCCPA Certification. ACLS, BLS, Infection Control Certificate

Starting from USD $90.10/Hr.
