Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Estimator with 2-3 years of experience to join our team in Boston. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in estimating and a strong interest in further developing their skills in cost analysis and project budgeting. As a Civil Estimator, you will support the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for our diverse range of civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:Estimate Preparation: Assist in developing detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including marine construction, bridge building, ventilation systems, railroad infrastructure, and sewer/drain/water utilities.Bid Assistance: Support the bid process by gathering and analyzing quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, preparing bid proposals, and reviewing bid documents for accuracy.Cost Analysis: Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine material, labor, and overhead costs. Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates. Provide input and insights during the estimating process.Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of estimates, including cost breakdowns, assumptions, and methodologies. Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.Market Research: Assist in researching market trends, material costs, and industry standards to ensure competitive and accurate estimates. Support the development of relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.Review and Validation: Help review estimates and bid proposals to ensure they align with project requirements. Assist in addressing any discrepancies or issues that arise.Reporting: Provide regular updates on estimating activities and project costs to senior estimators and project teams.Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.Experience: 2-3 years of experience in civil estimating, with a foundational understanding of heavy civil construction projects. Some experience with estimating software and tools is preferred.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with estimating software. Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret project plans and specifications.Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing estimates.Benefits:
