Position Summary Information

Summary

Responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of a comprehensive and ongoing development program for Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) with focus on corporate and foundation gifts of $50K and above, as well as overseeing CFR's coordination with college/unit colleagues. Responsible for the development operations, corporate and foundation strategies, and collaboration with colleges and units. Partners with colleagues to identify, cultivate and complete proposals and solicitations from corporations and foundations. Proactively provides follow-up and stewardship on completed gifts.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

External Engagement:

Establish and manage connections with national and regional business, foundation, community, and philanthropic leaders with the goal of supporting NEOMED. Ensure the President, Deans, and other university personnel are supported appropriately for their respective fundraising priorities.

Internal Collaboration : Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute the philanthropic strategy. Work with marketing to develop collateral materials for cultivation and solicitation pieces. Along with other Advancement staff, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni and donor prospects.

Key Philanthropic Initiatives : Match donor interests to key philanthropic priorities as defined by the VP of Advancement and University leadership with the goal of securing a principal gift in the next 18-24 months.

Foundation Board of Directors:

Works with the Northeast Ohio Medical University Foundation board on advocacy and resource development for the University. Possible service as staff liaison to a Foundation board committee.

Alumni Interface : Work collaboratively with Alumni Relations and other departments at the University on projects related to alumni and donor engagement and cultivation.

Database Interface : Utilize Raiser's Edge Database to manage donors/prospects and develop strategies to obtain gifts and pledges from University constituencies, in collaboration with the Advancement team.

Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsBachelor's degreeTen years of experience, or equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experienceProficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Raiser's Edge software helpful; fluency in same preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements

Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.

Requires limited travel to see out of town alumni and prospects, as well as occasional night and weekend events or assignments.

Department Specific Information

Starting Salary Range: $76,006 - $91,207, commensurate with experience.
