Job Description:
The American Express is looking for a
Tournament Services Intern . This position will be responsible for assisting the Tournament Staff with planning and logistics for staging the event. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to work well in a high-pressure environment, must display strong organizational skills, and must show a high level of oral and written communication.
Tournament Services
o Assist with daily tournament activities as assigned (i.e. Checking F&B, Tournament Office, Pro Am set up, etc.)Assist tournament staff with special events and projects as neededo Assist with the coordination of the Tournament's social media and marketing efforts
o Assist with tournament courtesy car program
Assist with general administrative work and other Tournament Service-related duties as assignedProviding top-notch customer service to fans and sponsorsCompiling reports for ticket salesAssist with operation of ticket office during tournament weekCreate process for Admissions and Will Call during tournament week
o Support the Sponsor Benefits team throughout all stages of the sales process
o Coordinate event registration, implementation, and gifting during tournament week including but not limited to inputting Pro-Am participant information into Sales Force and Golf Genius.
o Coordination of client ticket and credential fulfillment
o Work with Sponsor Benefits, Food & Beverage, Operations and Volunteers to ensure all suites are show ready for tournament week
Qualifications & Experience:
o Sport Management, Marketing, Management, Comunications majors preferred
o Eligible to work in the United States; International students must have all visas and employment authorizations
o Must be able to provide own housing and transportation
o Ability to work in a team environment
o Work collaboratively with other departments such as Sponsor Relations, Sales, Marketing, and Volunteers on other projects as assigned
o Public relations skills and ability to communicate with staff, volunteers, corporate clients, club members and public
o Must take initiative, operate proactively and think independently in project management, problem solving, and critical thinking
o Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously
o Self-discipline with schedule and time management
o Organization, attention to detail and follow-through are crucial
o Ability to stand for lengthy periods and to lift/move boxes of supplies potentially weighing 50 pounds
o Must be able to work exceptionally well with others in a close team environment
o Must be polite, courteous, and treat all guests and associates respectfully
o Must be able to stay calm during stressful or demanding moments
o Work extended hours; including nights and weekends leading up to and during the event

*Evening and Weekends will be necessary as tournament approaches. Holiday schedule will be provided.
