Description:Position Summary:

The Applications Administrator is responsible for the strategic implementation, maintenance, and optimization of POS systems within the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of retail operations by providing reliable and efficient POS solutions. By collaborating closely with store-level associates, the POS Applications Administrator analyzes business requirements to develop and implement solutions that enhance sales productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. A deep understanding of POS functionalities, integrations, and industry best practices is essential for success. This position demands a strong focus on maintaining system integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations. The POS Applications Administrator will play a key role in minimizing downtime, resolving technical issues, and providing ongoing support to end-users. To excel in this role, a proactive and analytical mindset is required, coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Continuous learning and staying abreast of POS technology advancements are crucial for driving innovation and improving overall POS system performance.

Responsibilities:

The Application Administrator has a wide range of responsibilities related to the implementation, maintenance, and support of applications within the organization. Here is an overview of the key responsibilities:Application support: Provide Tier 2 and 3 application support to end users. This involves troubleshooting issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing solutions to minimize future occurrences. Future-proofing systems may involve identifying potential issues or risks and taking proactive measures to prevent them.Troubleshooting: Investigate and diagnose application issues reported by end users. Analyze error logs, perform system monitoring, and conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems. Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.User Management: Assist with user access management, including account creation, modification, and termination. Ensure appropriate user permissions and access controls are in place.Application Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and configuration changes. Coordinate with the development team for bug fixes and enhancements. Keep applications up to date with the latest security standards.Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of application configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Contribute to the knowledge base to facilitate efficient issue resolution and knowledge sharing.Communication: Communicate effectively with end users, colleagues, and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide status updates, and address any application-related concerns. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.Training and Support: Assist in providing training and support to end users on new or existing applications. Create user guides and conduct training sessions to promote effective utilization of applications.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business users, to troubleshoot complex issues, implement enhancements, and ensure seamless integration with other systems.IT General Controls (ITGCs) management: Maintain the framework for IT General Controls, including managing user access rights and change control policies. Ensure compliance with corporate governance and industry regulations by implementing appropriate controls and procedures.These responsibilities require strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication and collaboration with business users, team members, and technology leadership. The Application Administrator should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.

Working Relationships:

Applications Administrators regularly interact with the Director of Application Management, members of the Application Management team, and other roles within the IT department. The Applications Administrator will also work closely with business and technology partners to ensure process handoffs

Requirements:Minimum Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Related Discipline

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Related Discipline

Minimum Experience:

4+ years of end user support or consulting experience within the application of experience

Preferred Experience:

6+ years of end user support or consulting experienceFamiliarity with common business applications and software systemsStrong documentation disciplineBasic understanding of database concepts, networking principles, and operation systems.Licenses/Certifications:

Microsoft Technology Associate, Infrastructure (ITIL) Foundations

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and documentation skills, desire to learn, effective team memberExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of accountability.
