And it's not just food - we work across industries to make products that are higher quality, healthier and better for the planet.Everything we do is about Making Better Happen™.Two Positions Are Available 2-2-3-3 Rotation (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off):Team C:7am-7pmTeam D:7pm-7amThe Production OperatorI is responsible for maintaining the flow rate of the products going down thepackaging lines by using the appropriate controls. They are also responsiblefor checking the quality of the products going through the roller. Thisincludes visual inspection as the product rolls through, clearing the rollerof any clogged products slowing the roller down and clearing out anydischarge product. Production Operator I check the rollers every week for anypossible defects in the machines themselves, as well as cleaning out adumpster and washing off plastic curtains. They are responsible for keepingtheir areas picked up daily. On occasion, the Production Operator I will haveto handle bags of cinnamon for a certain customer but a majority of the timethere are set products the company uses and when they are switched, the ProductionOperator I will change out filters for the tank motors to preventcross-contamination. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (toinclude but not limited to)Safety& Environmental Performance Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses. Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required to assure product quality and consistency to our customers.Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help to remedy them.Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.Prevention and timely reporting of any environmental issues.WorkRequirements Ensure that the rollers and all of their components are free from contamination and foreign materials.Set and maintain rollers to obtain the proper operating conditions and specifications.Monitor tank temperatures and roller temperatures to ensure that product is maintained at the correct settings and proper operating parameters. Monitor size, thickness, and appearance of flake to meet the specifications as well as rate requirementsMaintain operator logs, documenting the condition of the rollers, flake specification, and any variance or compliance with standards. Communicate with the flake room to warn of any problems that may occur.Complete wash-down/change over procedures and documentation including filter and magnet samples.Work area must be maintained, kept clean and neat without foreign materials present which may become a possible product contaminant.Comply with all plant GMP's.Perform any and all tasks assigned to you by a member of the GFGB management team, provided that the task is approved by your supervisor.Once a month, load rollers with bags of cinnamonControl the rolling rate and performanceMaintain Remelt Systems equipment and product in remelt tanksMake adjustments to auto weighers to ensure correct quantity of product is being purchasedCostControl Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste in product and shrinkage Reduce the amount of rework by participating in employee involvement, process improvement and adherence to process guidelinesEnsure work is completed to customers specificationsQualificationsEquivalent education GED Basic computer knowledge and skills Able to be a good leader, communicate with people in motivating, good trainer and teacherMachinery experience. Math skills and reasonable ability.Able to apply general mathematical calculations, analysis of variance and other basic standard equations as required.Have good common sense3 years prior manufacturing experience required.Working ConditionsThe work environment consists of exposure toloud noises, heat, sparks, potential ammonia exposure, potential burns fromsteam lines, potential slick floors from oil and smoke may occur.Protective safety equipment is requiredincluding appropriate clothing, shoes, gloves and goggles as needed.Activities include extended periods of standingand extensive work with chilled flakers, steam lines and air lines.Physical RequirementsMust have ability to communicate (verbal and written) with shift leads and other co-workers Regular use of measuring toolsStanding for extended periods is common daily.
