Job Description
Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Acute Care Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our therapy team in a full time capacity.Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children's hospital that offers the highest level of dedicated pediatric care in Northern Virginia. Our pediatric rehab team provides therapy services to the 226 bed pediatric hospital which includes a PICU, Cardiac Unit, Intermediate Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Unit, Hematology/Oncology, and Level IV NICU.
The Physical Therapist 1 selects evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the patient's diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans. Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
Job Responsibilities:
• Documents the results of the evaluation clearly and completely, including all essential elements according to department policy.• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patient's response to treatment, actual performance, and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed as evidenced by chart review.• Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up, and patient and/or family education as evidenced by chart review and team feedback.• Documents clearly, concisely and legibly within established time frames (e.g. allows other therapists to continue treatment, allows for interpretation by payors, supports reimbursements) as evidenced by chart review.• Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education as evidenced by chart review.
Schedule: M-F, 40 hours a week. Rotating weekends

Requirements:
• New graduate Physical Therapist eligible. 1 year of acute care experience preferredEducation:• Master's degree, Physical TherapyCertification:• BLS certified through the American Heart Association
