The Volunteer Operations Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operation of volunteer activities conducted in the Volunteer Operations Center and for ensuring the delivery of a safe and positive experience for volunteers. They will work closely with the Development team to exemplify the Foodbank's values through successful project completion in the Volunteer Operations Center. They will oversee necessary inventory and the movement of product and conduct inventory management functions in our ERP system to ensure proper inventory controls for the volunteer operations center. This position will provide training on the use of equipment or project management as needed.Arkansas Foodbank team members will demonstrate a commitment to our mission and to the fight against hunger in Arkansas. Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary.The Volunteer Operations Supervisor will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief. Ensure that all volunteers have a safe, positive, and well-organized work environment. Ensure volunteer work meets internal and external needs and standards when conducting applicable projects.Support project completion activity in meeting production requirements and maintain accurate documentation as required.Ensure cross-departmental collaboration to coordinate, schedule, prepare, and organize repackaging activities and all other volunteer projects.Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures that ensure that all standard safety and food safety requirements are met for proper food handling.Safely operate power equipment. This will include but not limited to completion of equipment training and certification, regular equipment safety inspections, and safe operation. Setup supplies and materials needed to complete each scheduled volunteer project. Maintain accurate inventory of supplies and materials necessary to conduct scheduled operations.Train volunteers on the safe use of equipment.Build a positive rapport with volunteers to ensure that they enjoy the experience.Weigh and re-tag all processed food adhering to warehouse inventory control processes and procedures to maintain accuracy of inventory.Collaborate with the team to ensure that all the volunteer work areas are kept clean during the day and at the end of the work shifts. This also includes equipment and garbage removal.Maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies needed for project completion and collaborate with the Volunteer Operations Manager to order supplies as needed.Complete inventory reclassification of product in CERES for the Volunteer Operations Center.Maintain the movement of product between the volunteer operations center and the main warehouse. Support the development of processes to increase product flow. Work with the Operations team to ensure available product for project completion.Ability to manage multiple relationships and multiple priorities thoroughly and efficiently,Manage projects from conception to completion with exceptional attention to detail,Conduct oneself in a calm and professional manner in difficult situations,Work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers,Work effectively, both independently and in a team environmentRelate across departments with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environmentBe an effective public speaker; comfortable delivering program content and representing the organization to internal and external audiences.Provide support, recognition, and promotion for volunteers.Other duties as assignedPosition QualificationsThe following qualifications are preferred for the candidate or employee; however, other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of management. High School diploma or GED equivalent required. At least one (1) year experience in Volunteer Management or related experience. Experience in warehousing and materials management a plus.Basic knowledge or Microsoft Office: including Word, Excel, and Access.Must be able to obtain power industrial certification. (Training to be administered by the Arkansas Foodbank.)Must have or able to pass SERV Safe certification.Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of insurance requiredMust pass a background checkMust pass a preemployment drug screeningWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and smell. The employee frequently is required to use their hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend; and lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee occasionally must sit, climb, or balance. Specific vision abilities required for this position includes the ability to read up close and when using a computer screen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to operate vehicles.
