In this role, you will develop an awareness of MPCs commitment to high ethical standards, environmental stewardship, and employee safety. You will also work to establish and maintain rapport with suppliers as well as MPCs employees and management. Based upon location and organizational assignment, the role allows the intern to take on a number of challenging and exciting responsibilities. ?Supply Chain Associate/Buyer Responsibilities :Develop a knowledgeable background regarding MPC's policies and procedures related to procurement, contracts, and materials managementDevelop an understanding of MPC's category management, contract management and supplier diversity processesBecome familiar with the materials, equipment, and services procured for the operations of MPC's componentsPlay a hands-on role in the purchasing of indirect goods and servicesEngage in cross-functional category management activitiesGain an understanding of market and spend analysisPrepare and analyze bid packagesNegotiate contractual terms and commercial issuesComplete projects and tasks related to inventory control, transportation, and logistics?
Qualifications:Desired Majors: Bachelors in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, Integrated Supply Management, and/or LogisticsStrong academic performanceCandidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the futureThis position is full-time, 40/hrs a week and on-locationConcurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program throughout duration of experienceMilitary experience a plusPay - 19.62/hr - $24.52/hrThis position will be based in the Findlay, Ohio Headquarters.As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.Location:Findlay, Ohio
