As part of the performance and memory optimization team, you will innovate and push the limits to deliver the best experience possible for our players. You will problem-solve performance, memory and stability issues and guide developers in creating new industry-leading features. Most importantly, you'll work with a creative, energetic, and fun team to continue making Fortnite one of the most popular and engaging gaming experiences in the world!In this role, you willLead a team of 4-6 engineers solving CPU performance and memory bottlenecksDrive improvements to tools and analytics to allow content creators to self-service their performance needsBuild up your team through coaching, unblocking obstacles, code review, and sharing a positive, learning mindsetWork closely with production and technical leadership to balance shipping new features with long term sustainabilityBuild relationships with adjacent teams including art, gameplay, platform tech, and automationEstablish workflows to validate performance improvements and prevent regressions across different game and engine subsystems and platformsWhat we're looking forA proven track record of driving technical leadership of high performing engineering teamsExcellent C++ skills and software engineering principlesExperience profiling and optimizing in one or more areas of game developmentExperience implementing and debugging large, robust systems on game or game engine technologyStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams to understand technical and non-technical needs from diverse stakeholdersA desire and willingness to jump into the weeds and do engineering work as needed to deliver strategic outcomesUnreal Engine and console development experience preferred but not requiredEPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFE
