About the role
We’re hiring a staff software engineer to join us onsite in San Francisco. You’ll build critical systems, services, and customer-facing features end-to-end. You’ll be doing a lot of zero to one, breaking down high-level goals, diving into ambiguity and experimenting to find the best solutions. As an early employee, you’ll also contribute heavily to building the company’s team and culture. Our stack: TypeScript, Node, Postgres, React, GraphQL (Apollo), Next.js. You might be a good fit if you have/are
T-shaped skillset: shallow knowledge across the stack and depth of experience in one area.
A strong desire to directly understand customer problems and design solutions for them.
Experience breaking down and prioritizing ambiguous projects.
Familiarity or interest in Typescript, React, GraphQL, Postgres, or Next.js.
5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
Not required: insurance knowledge – we promise, you’ll pick up the necessary pieces fast!
Our team & philosophy
We’re backed by
Spark Capital
(Natalie Sandman) and founders/executives from Brex, Asana, Plaid, Applied Intuition, Coalition, and more. Our team hails from companies like Airbnb, Box, AWS, and LiveRamp. We're also fairly low-profile: we don't seek TechCrunch coverage or validation from peers; we instead focus that energy on delivering for customers and building a strong business and category-defining company. We’re hiring predominantly in
San Francisco
as we believe in-person collaboration is strategically important for a company at our stage — both for velocity and company culture. Benefits
Competitive base salary and generous equity.
Generous medical, dental and vision benefits.
401K plan enrollment.
Flexible time-off policy.
Lunch & dinner every day.
Late night rides home.
Paid parental leave.
Company outings and offsites.
(and more benefits as we grow!)
Comulate is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture that celebrates authenticity.
