Newly hired employees appointed full-time before June 30, 2024, into the Overhead Line classifications of 7235, 7310, or 7366, are eligible for a one-time $20,000 signing bonus. Candidates who live over one hundred (100) miles outside of the geographic boundaries of the City and County of San Francisco and who relocate in connection with an appointment to an Overhead Line Classification are eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses up to $20,000.Under direction, Transit Power Line Supervisor I supervises a crew of electrical line-workers and supports personnel in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground transit power lines and cables, and performs related duties as required.Distinguishing Features:The 7235 Transit Power Line Supervisor I is the first-level supervisor in the transit power line series. This job code is distinguished from job code 7366 Transit Power Line Worker in that the latter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of transit power line systems.Supervision Exercised:Supervises transit power line workers and support personnel in transit power line work.Examples of Important and Essential Duties:Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of subordinate personnel engaged in the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of high voltage (600 volts or more) overhead and underground transit power lines and cables.Responds immediately to emergency breakdowns and makes necessary repairs.Reviews, supervises, and performs the installation of overhead lines, feeders, circuit breakers, and other accessories.Makes field investigations of job sites/ existing facilities requiring alteration and relocation of transit power lines and related systems.Makes preliminary maps, sketches, and drawings for new overhead and underground transit power systems.Prepares requests for materials and equipment.Prepares various reports such as performance evaluations, daily work logs, and other operational reports.Establishes and maintains contact with the departmental personnel, representatives of other departments, contractors, and the general public.Interprets, coordinates, and enforces existing methods and procedures in the installation, maintenance, and repair of transit power lines.Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.Nature of Work

: Include working day, swing or night shifts, weekends and holidays in a 24 hour/7 days-a-week operation; working in confined underground spaces or elevated areas; in inclement weather and requiring the ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more to the waist level.How to qualify

Experience:Five (5) years of verifiable journey-level experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage (600 volts or more) overhead and underground power lines of which 3 years of experience must have been with overhead and underground transit power lines.License:Possession of a valid California driver's license at the time of appointment.Note:
