Position Summary:
As an ENGEO Geotechnical Engineer with a specialty in Numerical Modeling, you will gain geotechnical experience working on a wide variety of challenging, world-renowned projects. You will be encouraged and supported to manage increasingly complex and seismically challenging projects.Primary ResponsibilitiesUse numeric modeling to develop engineering recommendations for design and construction of private and public projects.Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, city agents, project managers (locally and in other regional offices), and peers.Perform well-defined field, analytical, and project administrative responsibilities with direction and encouragement from project managers and senior staff.May be assigned increasingly more complex, non-routine tasks with review and oversight from senior leadership.RequirementsOur Ideal CandidateRobust understanding of numerical modeling such as the finite element method (FEM) and/or finite difference method (FDM), including:
Boundary conditionsWave propagationConstitutive modelsWorking knowledge of FEM and/or FDM software programs such as PLAXIS, FLAC, LS-DYNA, or equivalent programs in 2D and 3DRobust knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering fundamentals and Soil-Structure InteractionCoding capability in Python and/or Matlab

M.S. degree in a relevant field, Ph.D. preferredExperience:
