Utility Consulting Director is responsible for the successful sale and execution of management and advisory consulting engagements within the utility consulting services unit of Burns & McDonnell. The Director will manage and provide expertise and professional development to a team of consultants and analysts in the day-to-day management of project quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontracts, proposals, estimates, and client relations. The Director will ensure client satisfaction through commitment, dedication, integrity, and outstanding service.What You’ll DoPlan, organize and direct consulting projects, including the overall pursuit, negotiation, execution, cost, schedule, and quality of deliverables.Facilitate workshop sessions with senior-level client teams to understand client requirements, uncover needs and develop action plans.Provide innovative and impactful solutions as a strategic thinker anticipating client problems.Liaise with internal and external subject matter experts to pursue and deliver consulting projects.Compile, distribute, and present status reports, including project progress, schedule, cost, and budget impacts to stakeholders.Establish project teams, coordinate activities amongst multiple disciplines, and ensure efficient utilization of staff.Accountable for the delivery of third-party vendors and subcontractors, including contracts, scope, schedule, and budget.Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.Ensure prime contract, subcontractor, and supplier invoicing is processed promptly.Provide managerial direction and work assignments to consultants and analysts.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related degree from an accredited program. A minimum of 13 years of relevant consulting experience. MBA preferred.Excellent business acumen with proven success managing consulting engagements. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets quickly and efficiently.Ability to uncover customer needs, develop recommendations, and deliver them persuasively. Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.Strong understanding of financial concepts and excellent planning and analytical skills.Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.Compensation Range$221,000.00 - $313,000.00The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.Our extensive benefits package takes care of you so that you can focus on doing great work.
