Responsibilities
Michael D. Gallo & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company seeks an attorney with 4-10 years’ legal experience, preferably working with a major personal line carrier. Some experience in handling auto and premises work and litigation/arbitration experience is desired but not necessary. Competitive candidates will be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to independently manage a caseload where all work is time-sensitive. The selected candidate should plan to spend time working both in the office and from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. We offer a competitive salary, benefit package, and an excellent work environment.
Qualifications
4-10 years of legal experience
Experience handling defense work for a major personal lines carrier is preferred
Must have a law degree from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
Must have an active license to practice law in Illinois and be a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar
Strong automation/technology skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation
Experience working in a paperless electronic environment
Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization for this opportunity.
