We are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to lead projects adapting existing firmware, FPGA code, and middleware embedded in MatrixSpace hardware for radar and mesh-communications applications. The candidate will help design, develop, and test industry-leading radar and communications technology.
The role will span the technology development lifecycle, including requirements generation, software design and implementation, integration, validation, and field test. It is desirable that the candidate have experience with embedded development using real-time operating systems. Network protocols, real-time operating systems, and wireless communications experience is desirable.
The role will be part of a growing, innovative product development team. We are looking for engineers to be immediately integrated into design teams to solve difficult technical problems. The candidate will report to the Director of Federal Systems.
Tasks:
Architect, design and implement FPGA solutions using Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL). Analyze user requirements to derive firmware design and performance requirements. Perform simulation and hardware testing for functional and performance verification of FPGA designs. Identify and resolve any design issues while optimizing performance. Create test solutions, especially for over-the-air testing and system functional testing. Participate in laboratory and field integration testing to validate software. Create modeling and simulation tools for hardware products and systems. Participate in radar and communications module design and verification. Contribute to research and development that fuels innovation and technological advancements. Collaborate with cross functional team in development, integration, and test projects. Skills:
Experience with multiple programming languages (C/C++, Python, embedded Linux, etc.). Experience with VHDL/Verilog and familiarity with FPGA toolchains (Xilinx, Intel, etc.) Deep understanding of digital logic design, embedded systems, and FPGA architecture. Experience with FPGA debugging, timing analysis, and optimization techniques. Experience in software-defined radar and/or radio systems is a plus. Experience devising test solutions and automating tests. Demonstrated success in resolution of technical challenges leveraging strong problem-solving skills. Experience with Military and Government programs. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of experience. Willing to travel, up to 10%. Ability to obtain government security clearance. Compensation:
