A Brief Overview The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting the Managing Director, Tax to ensure the timely delivery of tax benefits associated with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit ("LIHTC") program to Investors. Responsibilities also include addressing IRS and State income tax issues as they arise. What you will do Careful review of multi-state, multi-tier partnership tax returns, including property owning partnerships and fund-level tax returns, addressing contributions, distributions, allocation of tax items, special allocations, first year credit calculation, depreciation calculations and sales of partnership interest or assets. Completion of this process requires the review of partnership agreements, partnership audits, partnership general ledgers and related back up documentation. Work to resolve any issues identified in the return with tax return preparers. Prepare pass-through information (K-1 Summary) including state apportionment, state withholding and state exemption for the funds. Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of Investor tax documents. Monitor the timely mailing and filing of federal and all state tax returns. Assist with the analyses of partner capital accounts. Respond and track notices received from the IRS or other taxing authorities. Coordinate for tax payments and extension process. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting Required 1+ years tax experience Required LIHTC or real estate experience Preferred Partnership knowledge and experience preparing partnership tax returns Preferred Exposure to multi-state filings helpful, but not required. Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and work within specified deadlines. Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw logical conclusions. Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills. Willingness to work extended hours as required. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong computer skills including proficient in use of Excel and MS Office. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Requires a detail oriented, independent thinker who can be a part of a team and demonstrates knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and industry professionals. Strong work ethic; ability to handle high volume of transactions; works well under pressure/deadlines. Must demonstrate strong writing skills, and eager to learn and grow. Compensation We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally between $68,000 - $102,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. Salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience.
