Staff Scientist Position - Imaging Data Science, National Cancer Institute/NIH,
Imagej, Bethesda, Maryland, us, 20811
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join the CCR High-Throughput Imaging Facility (HiTIF) as a Staff Scientist.
HiTIF is a shared collaborative resource for CCR and NIH Investigators. We work with laboratory scientists to design and execute novel high-throughput, fluorescence microscopy-based imaging assays, which are used to identify and dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying physiological and pathological cellular processes. We have demonstrated a successful record in developing cutting-edge computational workflows on high-performance CPU and GPU batch clusters on the NIH Biowulf High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster to study biological pathways involved in genome architecture, chromatin regulation, the DNA damage response, cancer, and aging, among others.
HiTIF is expanding its data science capabilities to support the growing need for advanced single-cell analysis of images generated by NCI light microscopy cores. The Staff Scientist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with researchers and other data analysts at HiTIF, and principal investigators, to derive biological insights from complex imaging datasets. The successful candidate will be proficient in data visualization, statistical modeling, machine learning, and deep learning techniques. In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
