Forensic

practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.The RoleAs a Senior Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti on our Forensics team, you can expect to work on projects involving structural forensic investigation, litigation support, risk loss consulting, structural repair, and retrofit design. You will have the opportunity to perform structural investigations of existing buildings as part of a project team, review technical documentation related to building structures and designs, and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. Work with a project team on marketing efforts, report writing, and drawing development!ResponsibilitiesAssist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, and specifications.Assist with technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.Perform the required structural calculations, designs, and details for a broad range of project types.Assist with peer reviews and condition assessments.RequirementsDegree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or a related field.Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE Exam).3+ years of experience.Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.Proficient in SAP 2000 or similar analysis software, experience with Revit BIM software a plus.CompensationThe rate for this position generally is $75,000 - $90,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
