is an experienced full cycle Talent Acquisition expert who will provide sourcing strategies and programs to identified critical business needs for functions across the Medical Affairs organization within Vertex. This role will be pivotal in developing, executing and integrating our recruitment strategies, ensuring we attract and retain top talent across our headquarters and all regions in the field. This role will report into a Senior Director, TA and will be a member of the extended Global Talent Acquisition Team.The Director/Associate Director, Talent Acquisition provides vision, leadership, and team management to execute efficient and effective talent acquisition programs and best practices. This includes strategies for attracting, sourcing, and developing hard-to-find talent, and filling niche roles. S/he would drive performance across all talent acquisition disciplines (i.e. talent insights, talent mapping, sourcing, branding, assessment & selection, offer negotiation, etc.).However, the role of the recruiter is changing as the modern workforce is more distributed and changing rapidly than ever before. This shift has positioned Talent Acquisition to navigate the challenge of humanizing recruitment amidst the rise of AI technology. The need to engage passive talent, assessing for the right candidate skills while also attracting diverse talent will be key. As the leader of all talent acquisition activities for their assigned client(s), the Director/Associate Director, Talent Acquisition will cultivate and lead a team of highly proficient and experienced RPO recruiters and sourcers, all focused on the most critical hiring needs of the business.This position is based in our Boston, MA office (Seaport area) and will require a

hybrid

work situation with 3 days in office & 2 days remote on a weekly basis.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Act as a trusted relationship manager to assigned client(s), embedded into daily business operations, working side by side with the HR Business Partner to understand the business workforce plan, key functional and behavioral capability requirements, imbed early career and diversity and inclusion goals.Provide strategic talent acquisition support and counsel to business leaders and leadership teams, exhibiting high business acumen, and provide expertise on workforce trends and talent acquisition best practices.Proactively communicate functional business requirements to team of recruiters supporting the business, monitor progress against hiring goals, and ensure talent acquisition programs and practices create value and competitive advantage for the business.Provide strategic team leadership while taking a very hands-on role in identifying and cultivating relationships with highly qualified, diverse industry talent, particularly for senior-level roles.Partner with the Sr Director, TA and the Talent Intelligence Lead and build talent pipelines for key near-term and longer-term organizational capability and capacity needs.Evolve capabilities of the current recruiting team developing skills and ensuring the development and implementation of training required to fully qualify staff to ensure operational excellence, flawless execution and continuous improvement.Lead and help to maintain and enhance the culture of cross-functional collaboration, teamwork, and innovation within the Talent Acquisition team through transparent communication and team engagement.Strategically drive vendors/agencies/partners to effectively deliver high quality diverse talent, while maintaining positive relationships with them.Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies, pre-screen potential candidates and deliver qualified diverse candidates for hiring manager evaluation.Partner with hiring managers and the interview team to identify and establish roles in the interview and selection process, including technical, functional and behavioral interviewing.Grow current network, foster new relationships with potential candidates, and attend/coordinate networking events to further identify top talent for the organization.Prepare and negotiate job offers and close candidates.Provide/ensure regular updates to TA team, hiring managers and business partners of all recruitment assignments and effectively manage the recruitment process by balancing cost controls with customer needs.Collaborate with other members of TA and Human Resources (i.e Total Rewards, HR Employee Services, Talent Management) team on developing action plans for hiring key, hard to find talent.Work on additional cross-functional projects as part of the long-term strategy of building a best-in-class talent acquisition organization.Enhance the Employment Brand for Vertex and ensure we are the "Employer of Choice" for culturally aligned talent.Ensure exceptional candidate care throughout the recruitment process.Develop and maintain credibility for the Talent Acquisition team brand internally and externally.Experience leading recruiting strategies globally preferred.Basic Requirements:Bachelor's degreeTypically requires 10 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience with 5 years in a leadership role managing a teamScientifically driven with experience in supporting a medical affairs team.Proven track record of successfully developing and executing recruitment strategies within Medical Affairs.Strong understanding of recruitment metrics and analytics.Motivational leadership of a cohesive high-performing team within a global, highly matrixed environment; the ability to articulate vision and successfully drive execution.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and communicate complex issues and concepts enterprise-wide, from the executive team to individual contributors.Deep understanding and experience with recruitment practices, laws, regulations, and customs across key global markets.Demonstrated leadership and proven track record and expertise in talent acquisition best practices.Flex Designation:Hybrid-Eligible Or On-Site EligibleFlex Eligibility Status:In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:1.
