Business Management Associates (BMA) is seeking a
Classification Specialist
who will provide position management and classification support, including reviewing and analyzing specific occupational series and other organizational information (e.g., mission, functional statements, and organizational charts).
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provide classification recommendations that will best support the organization's strategic goals.
Utilize the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) classification standards and any applicable agency guidance to complete a full range of tasks.
Classify positions and complete desk audits in accordance with the Federal Wage System (FWS) and/or General Schedule (GS).
Additional job duties may apply.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Must have an understanding of OPM's Classification standards and the Federal Wage System (FWS) amongst other pay grades.
Sufficient technical proficiency with databases, automated systems i.e., SharePoint.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree and at least five (5) years of position classification/management and/or compensation experience for the Federal government.
Additional three (3) years of related position classification or similar experience in the public or private sector may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
