CDG Maui, Inc. is looking for an experienced construction foreman to coordinate field operations and oversee workers at our numerous construction sites in Maui, Hawaii. As the liaison between workers and supervisors, the foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses, permits, and employee safety. The ideal applicant will have a solid background in the field, strong leadership skills with the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. This is a hands-on position with the expectation that the foreman will be working to fulfill general scopes of work not contracted out to specialized trades. The construction foreman must be well-organized, team-oriented and able to communicate effectively with all team members including field staff, subcontractors, project managers, office staff and client. Foreman ensures all project expenses are properly accounted for and labor hours appropriately documented.Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly safety meetings, while overseeing and ensuring all safety rules are being followed at all sites at all times.Update the job log daily, making note of deliveries, trades on site, employees onsite and documenting work complete.Monitor the attendance of crew and advise on appropriate cost code/labor hour allocation.Update 3-week Lookaheads at the end of each week.Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel.Ability to properly plan ahead each week, avoiding last-minute trips for materials and increasing efficiency.Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and contractors.Holds trades and employees accountable, upholding a high quality of work.Recruit, hire, mentor, manage and train employees and contractors in accordance with CDG operating practices.Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.Develop and oversee quality standards on all sites.Willing to track multiple projects at once.“Start-up” mentality—can “go with the flow” with “can-do” attitude and ability to communicate respectfully.Ensures projects are completed on as scheduled—or, ideally, ahead of schedule.Identifies clear RFIs and pertinent to potential Change Orders.Keeps track of awarded scope and works with PM to identify Change Order work as necessary.Monitor and manage project budgets on all sites.Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably.Report project status to supervisors, site engineers and officials regularly.Requirements & Qualifications:
High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter).4+ years experience as a construction foreman.Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance, and use, and OSH guidelines.Understanding of use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems.Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.Ability to estimate CO work or work modifications onsite, as appropriate.Excellent organizational and leadership skills.Ability to communicate and report effectively.Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities.Experienced with Time Sheets, Cost Codes and Purchase Order systems.Good physical condition and stamina—able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, work outdoors and stand/walk for long periods of time.Fluency in English; Spanish a plus.Estimating experience a plus.Journeyman license a plus.Benefits:
