Operating 10 Community Health Centers, two PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) SeniorCare facilities, and 2 Mobile Health Units, PHS extends its services to residents across five counties, including Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Orange, and Lee.JOB SUMMARYThe Dentist at Piedmont Health Services, Inc works as a general dentist. They help coordinate all dental staff for efficient dental care delivery, develop systematic procedures, and offer on-the-job supervision to dental staff members. The role involves hands-on patient care and significant administrative and supervisory responsibilities. The dentist must ensure that all dental operations run smoothly and efficiently, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for the entire dental team. By developing and implementing systematic procedures, the dentist helps to streamline workflows, enhance patient care, and maintain high standards of practice. The dentist helps to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere at Piedmont Health Services, Inc, ensuring that each visit is a comfortable and reassuring experience.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Job Knowledge:

Competency in dentistry practice, embracing community health care principles, dedication to serving all patients regardless of financial status, commitment to health promotion and disease prevention, and effective communication and supervision of dental staff.Provide examination, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment for patients of all ages, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques.Perform clinical treatments including:a. Restoring teeth with fillings.b. Replacing missing teeth.c. Administering endodontic (nerve) treatments.d. Conducting periodontal (gum) treatments.e. Offering limited orthodontic (braces) services.f. Delivering prophylactic treatment.g. Performing tooth extractions.Collaborate with staff and Dental Director in patient counseling and treatment coordination.Support Dental Assistants' training and involve them in patient care.Engage in community health initiatives, liaise with other departments as needed, and fulfill any additional assigned duties.EDUCATION/BOARD CERTIFICATION:

Graduate of a School of Dentistry recognized by the Council on Education American Dental Association.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

North Carolina license to practice as a dentist is required and must be kept current. Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA certificate) is required and must be kept current.If the dentist does not possess the following items, they should be obtained as soon as practical and thereafter maintained: NC privilege license is required by the state of NC and must be posted in the provider's office, BLS certification is required.PATIENT POPULATION SERVEDPediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric and Diverse patient populations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONSRequires full range of body motion, finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and sitting for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds and requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours, requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids and conditions common to a dental clinic environment.FACILITIES DETAILSWe provide quality healthcare services to over 100 patients daily in our medical area. Our skilled dental staff provides a diverse range of dental services. We also offer medical and nutrition services, and our on-site pharmacy provides easy access to medication.
