About the Office of the President and Provost (PPO): As the University’s visionary leader in academia and finance, the President and Provost Office plays a pivotal role in sculpting a dynamic academic landscape and ensuring robust financial vitality. From steering academic programs to orchestrating seamless administrative coordination, the Provost is at the helm of a transformative journey.
Under the President’s and Provost’s guidance, our finance team takes center stage, expertly managing the PPO consolidated budget. They are architects of financial systems that power 25 administrative units within PPO, fostering a resilient and thriving academic community.
Anticipated Salary Range:
$155,000 – $180,000 depending on experience.
What you will be doing: As the Senior Financial and Budget Analyst at the Office of the President and Provost (PPO), you will lead complex finance functions, from budget accruals to maintaining data models, and drive internal control enhancements. You will own pivotal financial processes and projects, contributing to the management of the PPO consolidated budget and supporting 25 administrative units. Become the subject matter expert, addressing complex financial, policy, procedural, and technical issues. Your role will help ensure compliance with policies and procedures and play a vital part in the continuous improvement of our financial operations.
How you will be spending your time:
Performing highly analytical, complex finance and control functions; multi-dimensional reconciliations and related analysis; preparing or reviewing and approving complex transactions. Researching and synthesizing data; developing financial analyses, budget and forecasting scenarios, long-range planning, and analyses. Developing complex financial reports and presentations; running ad hoc reports. Prioritizing, identifying, and resolving strategic and unit/department issues. Leading multiple complex, high-visibility process innovation projects. Designing and providing training on new financial systems.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Advanced professional communication skills. Advanced project management skills and ability to lead large multi-functional teams. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with fund accounting principles. Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence and the ability to design ad hoc queries or dashboards. Experience working in higher education.
