Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst in our Boston, MA office. The Business Systems Analyst is accountable for working closely with Claims leaders and understanding their needs for enhancing the claims system used by BHSI. The role will partner with both claims leaders and IT resources to help turn ideas into usable system solutions. The claim system utilizes the Duck Creek Platform, and this role will require the individual to become familiar with it along with the accompanying systems required for claims operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Meet and communicate with claims users to understand business requests for system enhancements and document these enhancements for the technical team. Develop business requirement documentation, situational examples, produce mock screen designs, and workflow diagrams. Organize information gathered from multiple sources, recognize conflicts or limitations, and present information for business customer review and approval. Coordinate efforts to gather requirements for multiple initiatives simultaneously. Engage in reviewing and discussing product design within the claim systems. Engage in the development and execution of testing plans; document and triage issues. Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Claim handling experience preferred, but strong knowledge or background in P&C Insurance claims (FNOL, Reserving, Coverage, Subrogation, etc.) is required. Strong with using technologies; experience with Excel vlookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and advanced filters. Prior experience working on Duck Creek, Guidewire, Insurity, OneShield, Cover-All, or other P&C Claims systems. Big picture awareness of the insurance life cycle from policy quote through claim settlement and the ability to learn the finer details and processes. Quick learner with the ability to adapt to a changing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, subject matter experts, and vendor resources. Hands-on style with strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail. BHSI Offers:
