We seek degreed computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering engineers with hands-on experience in software development in C++ for digital signal processors (DSPs).What you will get to do:Plans, develops requirements, designs, develops, tests, operates and maintains software and DSP firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated within software-defined radios.
Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, aircraft and ground radios, electronic warfare jammers, mechanical and electrical systems.
Interfaces with multi-discipline team members, customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel. Identifying risks, suggesting mitigation, tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status.
Active participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPT), design reviews, and other reviews, including document reviews, as required.
Actively participate in the technical peer reviews to ensure system/software requirements are being met from an end-to-end system point of view.
This position will require onsite work in secure workspaces.This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the requirements below.Basic Qualifications for Principal Embedded Software Engineer:5 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related STEM discipline; 3 years with Masters; 1 year with a PhD.Basic Qualification for Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer:9 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related STEM discipline; 7 years with Masters; 3 years with a PhD.Common Qualifications for Principal and Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer:Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required.
Experience developing embedded, real-time software using C/C++ for DSP applications and understanding of software development processes.
Clearance:
Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications for Principal and Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer:Familiar with tools such as Rhapsody, GreenHills MULTI Integrated Development Environment, DOORS and ClearCase/ClearQuest.
Experience with GreenHills Integrity.
Experience with MATLAB.
Experience with DoD tactical waveforms.
Proficiency with TI DSPs and Code Composer Studio.
Clearance:
Active DOD Secret Clearance.
Salary Range:
$104,600 - $157,000Salary Range 2:
$129,700 - $194,500The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
