Senior Engineer - Structural Engineering

As a result of our successful project awards, our Pipelines group is rapidly expanding; therefore, Mott MacDonald is seeking qualified staff to join our team.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, or disability status.Responsibilities will include:Work directly with the Engineering management team to plan, build, and grow our structural engineering team delivering projects in the power sector across the Americas.Lead a team of engineers and designers as the Engineer of Record and works with Project Managers and other discipline leads on Energy projects.Outlines design objectives, requirements, and design approaches.Coordinate with project engineers and other discipline engineers and ensure consistency in execution of project management activities.Prepare proposal documents and budgetary estimates to support and/or lead proposal efforts.Engage in account leadership to liaise with prospective and existing clients for new opportunities.Training and mentoring engineers in areas such as:Foundation details and design including both shallow and deep foundations for the following:Static process equipment, large transformers, vibrating (oscillating and reciprocating) machinery, structural steel framing, etc.Developing reinforced concrete design and details.Structural Steel design and detailing.Preparing and/or reviewing calculation packages.Preparing material and building specifications.Review of shop drawing submittals.The ideal candidate will possess the following:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering.Masters in Structural Engineering preferred.10-20 years' detailed structural engineering design experience which includes experience in one or more of the following project types: structural design of buildings and industrial equipment foundations, knowledge of equipment at oil and gas facilities, knowledge of equipment at power substations, leading a team of junior engineers and drafting staff.Registered PE, SE is a plus.Field experience is a plus.Experience with reading and interpreting geotechnical reports.Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and structural design software.Strong technical, communication, and design skills.Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work with multi-disciplinary teams; and deal with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships.Demonstrated ability to interact with clients both in business development endeavors and project coordination.Salary will be based on years of experience.Our teams are comprised of bright and enthusiastic people who wish to make a difference to the world that we live in.
