CLASSIFICATION PURPOSE AND DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSTo plan, organize, and direct the administrative and operational activities of the San Diego County Employees Retirement Association (SDCERA) in accordance with the County Employees Retirement Law of 1937 and Retirement Board, county and state policies; and to perform related work.
The Retirement Chief Executive Officer reports to the Retirement Board and serves as department head for SDCERA. Under administrative direction, incumbent is responsible for providing administrative, investment, analytical, and advisory services to the Board of Retirement and for formulating operating procedures for administering the County Employees Retirement System benefits and pension trust fund.
