We’re building the right team to navigate and pioneer a multimedia brand for the future.We are seeking an exceptional and versatile Director to join our Content Team. The Content Team is responsible for developing, adapting, and producing multimedia anime content based on our IPs and geared towards a global audience.In this role, you’ll oversee the narrative and artistic aspects of high-quality anime content (both short-formats and long-formats). You’ll work alongside a talented creative team, including our Lead Writer, Producer, Head of Content, visual artists, and internal and external creative partners.If you’re driven by the prospect of telling captivating and inspiring stories and you’re excited to realize the full potential of content, then we can’t wait to hear from you!WHAT YOU’LL DO
Participate in the full production process and work with the team to maintain high standards for story, animation, editing, acting, and post-production sound, providing feedback and adjustments.
Participate in and guide storyboard, concept design, 2D and 3D art production, music and sound effects, and collaborate with multiple outsourced teams to direct and complete the full production.
Instruct on the filmmaking, continuity, and staging of animations, make notes on vendor studios' animation, build any layout, key poses, video notes necessary to guide vendor studios in completing the animation.
Adapt to and maintain the established Azuki IP style for content productions.
Review animation at all stages of production, provide feedback and direction to animators/studios.
Review designs and guide decisions on productions of other new or reused assets.
WHO YOU ARE
Passionate about anime, with a strong creative enthusiasm for world-building.
5+ years of experience in the film, television, animation, or gaming industry as a director.
Approach the best cinematic experiences creatively and independently, producing animated storyboards, and supervising their implementation within the tools.
Excellent storytelling techniques, and understanding of the concept of the visual hierarchy and how to lead the audience's attention to the story. Excellent sense of aesthetics, be able to create outstanding works in all ways.
Ability to work on a range of projects (action, comedy, and drama sequences) and in a variety of styles from comic to realistic and highly stylized.
Strong attention to detail and quality. Strong ability to champion and/or cinematic ideas.
Advanced knowledge of cinematic techniques, understanding of mis-en-scene and advanced cinematography and styles.
Ideally, experience in producing all formats of animations, i.e. 2D, 3D, stylized 3D, 2D/3D hybrid, etc.
Knowledge of software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and Photoshop. Maya is a plus.
Familiarity with web3 is a plus, but
not
required.
PAY & BENEFITS
Base pay for this role is between $160,000 to $220,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and transferable skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
