Job Title: Development Director- Grants and Annual GivingDepartment: External RelationsReports To: Vice President of External RelationsFLSA: ExemptSUMMARYThe Director of Development – Grants and Annual Giving will serve as a key strategist in maximizing fundraising efforts and grant acquisition, utilizing both traditional outreach methods as well as innovative technology-driven strategies. The Director will play a pivotal role in identifying potential donors, optimizing fundraising campaigns, and crafting compelling grant proposals that resonate with stakeholders and funding bodies. With a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and donor relationship management, the Director will collaborate closely with program staff to ensure alignment between funding opportunities and organizational needs, ultimately contributing to the enhancement and expansion of our programs for individuals with disabilities.BASIC FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Fundraising and Grants Management:• Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to enhance donor engagement and contributions, employing technology tools for maximum impact.• Utilize data analysis tools to predict giving patterns and tailor outreach efforts effectively.• Write, submit, and manage grant proposals aligned with funder priorities, employing persuasive, data-driven narratives.• Identify, research, and pursue giving opportunities from diverse sources, fostering relationships with funders, program officers, and stakeholders to optimize giving potential.• Prepare compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports that effectively convey the organization's mission, goals, and impact.• Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant data for grant applications and ensure compliance with grant agreements.Annual Giving and Special Campaign Fundraising Support:• Utilize technology tools to identify, research, and solicit donor prospects, developing and coordinating annual giving collateral.• Support the development and execution of annual giving fundraising strategies and campaigns, leveraging technology for enhanced results.• Maintain accurate donor records in the database, tracking interactions, preferences, and giving histories.• Collaborate with the development team to organize donor events, cultivation activities, and stewardship initiatives for continued donor engagement.• Other duties and assignments as assigned.Physical ExpectationsThis position may require extended periods of walking and/or standing with some periods of sitting. It may require light (5 lbs.) to heavy lifting (50 lbs.) and occasional stooping, kneeling, and/or bending.Working ConditionsThe employee may be exposed to office/home environment with noises from appliances, telephones, and other occupational noises.QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, grant management, and/or fundraising within the nonprofit sector.• Strong proficiency in utilizing technology tools and data analysis software for donor engagement, grant management, and fundraising strategies.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts into compelling grant/donor proposals and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies, leveraging technology for maximum impact.• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, including donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build relations with internal and external stakeholders.• Commitment to the mission and values of Life Unlimited, with a passion for serving individuals with disabilities and promoting inclusivity.• The ability to effectively and efficiently use computers or mobile devices to input, access, modify, or output information. This includes the ability to quickly access, store and retrieve data.• Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record and access to reliable transportation to conduct visits to multiple sites plus attend community meetings.• Must Receive Seasonal Flu Vaccination.Equal Opportunity Employer
