Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in construction management (CM), project controls, construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks a Construction Project Executive with a minimum of 15 years of experience leading construction project teams for a long-term opportunity in the Washington D.C area. The Project Executive is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of complex construction-management projects as well as leading project teams while managing and growing great relationships with clients. This position is a senior role and will provide project management oversight on various construction projects and pursuits.
This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in the A/E/C industry as a team leader and has the ambition to become a future leader within Procon Consulting. The Project Executive will be responsible for financial success of projects, growing client relationships, and resource management across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and requirements:
Qualifications and Skills
Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field. Must have a minimum of 15 year’s experience in the A/E/C or Construction Management/Owners Representation field. Must have the ability to communicate effectively via written and verbal communication, including client focused soft skills and ability to navigate political and difficult situations. Proven Leadership skills, mentoring and managing staff. Must have knowledge of Construction Management/Owner's Representative experience from project inception to closeout. Past experience in the role as lead construction project manager for both federal and private sector commercial construction projects is highly preferred. Must have the ability to achieve and maintain financial control and profit goals for projects. Must be proficient in all MS Office and Google applications for professional use. Must understand construction management procedures. Must be proficient in construction critical path method scheduling and able to effectively work with software such as Primavera Project P6. Experience in the use of industry project management and controls software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, AutoCADD, Revit, Prolog, Kahua, etc. is highly preferred. Must be able to pass background investigation. Must be organized, timely, and customer service oriented. Must have extreme attention to detail. Must have a strong business sense and ability to lead people. Must be fluent in project management principles and how to implement project management principles. Must be self-motivated. Flexibility to travel on occasion for project related meetings and/or events. Occasional travel for business is required. Construction management industry certifications such as ASHE, CMAA, LEED AP, CQM, PMP, etc. are highly preferred. Active member and participant in industry events and organizations. Serving on industry boards is preferred. Responsibilities and Duties
Lead multiple project teams and projects operationally in each phase including pre-construction, construction, close-out, and post-construction services. Lead teams and train internal staff resources. Lead construction management and owner’s representative duties across multiple projects. Adhere to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards. Understand contract requirements and manage project team resources accordingly. Provide project planning, budgeting, and identify resources needed. Manage teams, resources and develop clear objectives/goals for each employee. Mentor and coach internal construction management staff. Maintain team alignment and monitor team performance. Serve as liaison for all client communication. Cultivate excellent client relationships and manage client expectations. Ensure team execution and customer satisfaction. Strengthen existing client base and actively participate in business development to generate new clients and business for the firm. Lead and generate proposals for new opportunities and pursuits. Oversee project setup responsibilities including recruiting, vetting, and interviewing new personnel. Lead strategy for and direct internal resources regarding proposal development for new pursuits and marketing projects. Conduct recruiting and hiring and on-boarding of new company resources. Use industry contacts to find and develop new project team members and company resources. $140,000 - $160,000 a year
