About This Role:As Director, you will provide strategic, financial, and supervisory leadership for University Printing, the in-plant printing operation for Kansas State University. A key responsibility will be forecasting business and industry trends to identify and develop a shared vision that will help support university strategic goals. You also will be responsible for managing an annual budget exceeding $2.2 million.Create and implement strategic goals that align with University, Department of Communications and Agricultural Education, and the Division of Communications and Marketing vision and mission.Identify business and industry trends and supply chain health. Initiate, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts exceeding $1.2 million annually.Procure state-of-the-art equipment to meet changing client needs and industry trends.Develop, assess, and administer university print and distribution services policy. Facilitate compliance with occupational safety and health guidelines and work with health and safety officers to maintain a safe working environment for staff and customers.Direct University Printing staff and managers in short- and long-term business operations planning for unit services, production, inventory management, unit marketing, and client relations. Develop organizational staffing and succession plans to create operational continuity and efficiencies.Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous learning and skill development.Serve as a guest lecturer in undergraduate and graduate communication and art courses.

What You'll Need to Succeed:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and five to 10 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Five years of experience managing a printing/copying production facility.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop implementation plans with measurable results.Experience managing and supervising trade/production staff.Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.Ability to anticipate business and industry trends, supply chain health, and adopt innovative business technology applications.Experience building partnerships and working collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals.Experience building networks, both formal and informal.
