Warwick and Kenilworth Choral SocietyThe Warwick and Kenilworth Choral Society (WKCS) are looking to appoint a new Musical Director. WKCS is a non-auditioned choir of around 70 SATB voices. We enjoy singing from a wide repertoire of choral music - from the traditional canon of oratorios and folk songs to more contemporary work. Our hope is to produce performances that have a positive reaction from our audiences, and good local press reviews.WKCS is seeking a committed and experienced Musical Director who will prepare materials, conduct rehearsals, and lead the choir for up to four concerts each season, with one of these usually accompanied by an orchestra. You will have the experience to develop musical programmes with a wide appeal and will work alongside the WKCS Committee to achieve this. You will be someone who can encourage and develop choir members' musicality and skills. There will be opportunities to work with other professional musicians and it is hoped that you already have good contacts in the music world.Rehearsals are held in Warwick on Monday evenings in term-time. We have a dedicated accompanist with an excellent reputation, who will support you in achieving good performance standards, although having keyboard skills would be an asset for the post.Please contact our Secretary, Steph Lane (sec.wkcschoir@gmail.com) for a full job description and remuneration information.
