We’ve got what you’re looking for.Job Description:Parsons is now open to applications for an experienced Senior Project Roadway Engineer in the Kansas City area to join our actively growing team on current and upcoming projects, including our most recent KDOT US69 win!This role will provide you with the unique opportunity to join a highly-skilled, collaborative, and flexible team which will allow you to expand in your technical and professional expertise on major projects that will have a tangible impact on the infrastructure in your very own community!What You'll Be Doing:Projects

Review and approve discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project.If assigned to a major program, manage all specific engineering and design efforts for the program’s structural discipline.Coordinate structural discipline staffing requirements for the program.Monitor the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied.Work closely with Project Managers and Task Leads to resolve any existing or potential issues (including staffing, quality, schedule, or productivity).Establish standards/procedures manuals and recommend improvements to procedures.Ensure performance within overhead budgets authorized for the discipline. Actively participate in and promote the Quality Improvement Program.Personnel

Maintain appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as necessary (+ review and approve staff forecasting reports).Help recruit, interview, and evaluate prospective employees.Mentor, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel employees, take corrective actions (as necessary), and help approve salary adjustments and terminations.Ensure that new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures.Technical

Review work (drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, schedules, etc.) produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and that quality is acceptable.Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical personnel and make reassignments as project needs develop.Provide training and development opportunities for assigned personnel.Support pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant. Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.Prepare technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.Obtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project disciplines.Notify project management and other affected personnel of all changes.What Required Skills/Qualifications You'll Bring:4-year Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).Typically, 12 years or more of roadway design experience.Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity.DOT Experience.What Preferred Skills/Qualifications You'll Bring:A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is highly preferred.PE Registration is highly preferred and may even be required for this role.KDOT Project Design Experience.Minimum Clearance Required to Start:
