Description:Larkin University (LU) College of Pharmacy (COP) is seeking a full-time faculty for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The faculty will have responsibilities in different aspects of pharmacy academia including didactic teaching, laboratory teaching, research, student advising, and service to the institution and profession.LUCOP’s accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and is an integrated-block, three-year curriculum. LUCOP Website .LU maintains advanced and functional research capabilities in different areas of pharmaceutical sciences. Research endeavors in computational and modeling areas including physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling and simulation are encouraged.Major Responsibilities:Work closely with the Dean and Department Chair in ensuring that the integrity of the University and the COP are in line with the founding principles, values, mission, and goals;Ensure the development, furtherance, and improvement of curriculum and educational assessment tools;Be available to teach assigned courses and subjects at an appointed time;Develop and deliver elective courses, as needed, in the specialty area of choice;Work with the Department Chair to formulate a strategy to develop and sustain the research program in LU laboratories;Seek research independence by submitting grants for extramural funding;Maintain a productive output of scholarly contributions, such as peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals;Disseminate knowledge by scholarly presentation at appropriate scientific and academic platforms;Assist in activities related to accreditation by various national, regional, state, and other accreditation and regulatory agencies;Serve on various committees of COP/University;Ensure mentoring of students;Represent the Department, College, and University to external institutions, organizations, and agencies;Ensure compliance with all LU policies and procedures;Promote safe working conditions and procedures in the Department;Promote collegiality, professional and ethical behaviors;Perform other duties as requested by the Chair or Dean.Job Requirements:The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacometrics, or closely related areas in pharmaceutical sciences. Applicants with a background/interest in population pharmacokinetics, PBPK modeling, PK/PD modeling, or quantitative systems pharmacology will also be considered.
