Mission & Authority
This position is charged with the authority and responsibility to ensure the development, management, and successful funding of the campaign vision for the Africa West, East, South, and Middle East divisions through visionary-donor partnerships. The incumbent will work independently with minimal supervision.Overarching Responsibilities
Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects for major gifts to YoungLife, focusing on Africa and Middle East divisions.Supervise sponsorship managers across Africa/Middle East divisions, manage sponsorship acquisition, and engage in donor stewardship cross divisionally.Work in collaboration and partnership with International Group Senior Vice Presidents to create a vision and strategic initiative to grow local giving and sustainability efforts in each Division.Collaborate with VP of International Development in developing strategic plans and structure for prospective major gifts from constituents across Africa/Middle East divisions.Assist, as requested by the VP of International Development, with programs to increase donor giving through all functions, events and programs and other strategic means.As directed by the VP of International Development, establish yearly measurable goals/objectives, related metrics for new gift commitments secured, proposals made, new prospects qualified, and prospect meetings held.Implement strategic initiatives as directed by leadership, to grow or improve the platform as a whole.Collaborate with Africa/Middle East field leaders in executing healthy ministry through development support in their designated ministry areas.Campaign Management
Recruit, engage and equip members of the Executive Campaign Committee for Africa/Middle East alongside the VP of International Development by establishing roles, managing task forces, leading meetings, and encouraging them to engage their colleagues.Create and maintain campaign timeline and progress management.Conduct a feasibility study if applicable (internally or in partnership with and outside consultant).Successfully fund annual goals of campaign to include legacy commitments.Oversee a timely stewardship program for all campaigns.Case and Materials for Campaign
Oversee the creation and implementation of a case for the campaign and maintain up to date versions.Case should include a “give now” and “give in the future” (legacy) option.Gift Plan based off the Engagement List.Creation of supporting documents for specific initiatives and/or strategies.Database Management (YLConnect/CRM)
Keep the database updated to include visits, phone calls, and pertinent information as it relates to relationship-centered engagement.Creating a Campaign as well as opportunities for proper number of individuals to complete your annual goals as well as overarching Campaign goals.Target High/Target Lows are inserted with follow-up strategies.Working Alongside the Field
Come alongside SVP’s to bring support and value to their overall divisional strategy.Collaborating on reports in order to maximize their fundraising efforts (lapsed donor reports, top donor reports, etc.).Listening to the needs of the SVP’s and getting in front of them to help them accomplish campaign goals.Facilitating the growth and development of regional teams to ensure alignment with overarching divisional objectives.Create stewardship strategy for properly recognizing/thanking donors.Regular reports out on how funds were utilized.Donor impact reports highlighting support across the mission.List Work – Analytics Prospects, Qualifying
Engagement list should include those at each state of the relationship-centered engagement process (identification, qualification, cultivation, invitation, and stewardship).Work on qualifying additional prospects identifying if they have capacity and affinity.Be able to produce this list in front of ECC and staff regularly.Procedures and Policies within Young Life and Development
Meet with direct supervisor, VP of International Development, monthly for a one-on-one.Attend fall meeting at Trail West, Development Summit.Attend monthly CD Zoom meetings.Job-Specific Working Conditions
