Vice President for Academic Affairs THE OPPORTUNITY: Hudson County Community College (HCCC) seeks an Associate Director of Honors to join its award-winning and nationally recognized institution. This is an exciting time to be a part of the HCCC community. The College recently launched its 2021-24 Strategic Plan, aligning with the College’s 50th anniversary in 2024. HCCC has been recognized for its commitment to diversity and inclusion, receiving several prestigious awards. OVERVIEW: Hudson County Community College serves one of the most ethnically diverse and densely populated communities in the United States. The College provides inclusive, high-quality educational programs and services that promote student success and upward mobility. More than 90% of HCCC’s students receive financial aid, and the College has raised over $3.5 million for student scholarships. HCCC ranks first in New Jersey for Community College Opportunity Grant funds. Hudson County Community College has three campuses, offering 70 degree and certificate programs and over 300 courses throughout its network. Position Summary: Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Assessment, the Associate Director of the Honors Program is responsible for advancing, supporting, and sustaining the Honors Program. The Associate Director will lead, manage, and support the design, development, implementation, and administration of all policies, procedures, practices, and activities related to the Honors Program. Essential Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and support the design, development, implementation, and administration of all policies, procedures, practices, and activities related to the Honors Program. Conduct pre-semester Honors Program Orientations and facilitate Honors events. Lead initiatives to maintain and expand the Honors Program. Plan Honors global experiences and promote study abroad opportunities. Manage course scheduling and development of new course offerings. Assist the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society Advisor with student scholarship applications. Maintain student information in databases. Develop partnerships with Advisement, Enrollment, and Early College offices. Promote innovation and best practices in honors pedagogy. Collaborate with the Grants office for funding opportunities. Manage the College’s Honors Program membership with external programs. Promote articulation agreements and scholarship possibilities. Develop marketing materials for the Honors Program. Participate in program promotion and enrollment events. Serve as an advisor for Honors student organizations. Manage the Honors Lounge and related activities. Position Requirements: Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Development, or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience in academic advising. Experience in honors enrollment management. Experience working with underrepresented and non-traditional students. Knowledge of student leadership. Experience guiding students in undergraduate research. Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Willingness to engage with student success initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively. Ability to write concisely and express thoughts clearly. Ability to work independently and solve problems creatively. Demonstrated computer skills with various software programs.
