Regulatory, Permitting, and Compliance CounselQualificationsMust be an attorney licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of Illinois (or eligible for admission on motion to the Illinois Bar pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 705 or 716)3 to 5 years of legal experience with a focus on federal, state and local regulatory and administrative law experienceResponsibilitiesWork with and lead Daniels North American compliance team reporting to Daniels In-House CounselLegal experience with the complex statutory and regulatory frameworks surrounding medical waste, sharps and hazardous waste disposalPrepare and review all local, state, and federal applications, permits, approvals, and licenses required for the Company’s operationsServe as primary point of contact for and maintain relationships with state and local agencies regarding permit applications and inspections of permitted facilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor effective legal compliance programs related to permitting of trucks, waste facilities, and related operational equipmentFamiliarity with local zoning and land use approval processes preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate our legal position to government officials and regulatorsAbility to learn new subject areas quickly and competentlyPrevious supervisory experience is preferred, but not requiredWho are we?We are a healthcare service company providing safety systems and medical waste collection for hospitals, medical centers, surgical centers, nursing homes, and an array of customers within the healthcare setting.
