(ESI) is a medium-sized environmental consulting firm with over 20 years’ experience assisting clients in complying with state and federal policies related to the natural and cultural environment. ESI’s team includes over 80 full-time archaeologists, scientists, and engineers with specialties ranging from architectural history to animal ecology to field archaeology to wetland science to regulations. ESI has solidified its professional integrity while building ourselves into a leading CRM authority through hard work and reputation.We are seeking a full-time Assistant Archaeological Laboratory Director based out of our Cincinnati, Ohio office. This position will be versatile, with responsibilities including lab work, curation management, and office work when necessary. Primary responsibilities include collaborating and learning with our current Lab Director with the processing, cataloging, and analysis of material recovered from archaeological investigations. Must have at least 4 years of professional experience and 2 years of archaeological laboratory experience. Must have strong working knowledge of prehistoric and/or historic archaeology and related practices and artifacts.Responsibilities:Aiding in implementing, maintaining and coordinating all laboratory procedures, methods, and analyses.Responsible for preparing artifact assemblages for curation and arranging delivery to curatorial facility.Under supervision of the Lab Director, writes artifactual data analyses sections for technical reports.Under supervision of the Lab Director, processes assemblages using lab procedures, performs artifact indentation, and conducts specialized analyses.Maintains, controls, and monitors all field and laboratory equipment.Other related duties as assigned.Skills:Ability to identify artifacts.Organized and able to work efficiently.Ability to write detailed descriptions.Ability to follow directions.An openness to learning.Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Access.Qualifications:BA in anthropology, archaeology, or related field.Completed an archaeological field school.At least 2 years of experience in an archaeological laboratory setting.At least 4 years of professional experience.Must be able to pass all pre-hire screenings.Must possess a valid driver’s license.Compensation:The salary range will be between $60,000 – $75,000 depending on experience.This position is eligible for ESI’s standard benefits package.Apply:
