Job Summary

This position provides industrial injury prevention program services focused on total worker health.It is a full-time position that will work 40 hours per week. A minimum of 20 hours per week will be worked onsite and the remaining hours will be performed virtually supporting the virtual Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist/Incident Intervention line.Work schedule (non-negotiable):Sunday (virtual): 5:00am-1:30pm PSTMonday (virtual): 7:00am - 3:30pm PSTTuesday: Onsite at 7:00am PST for 7 hours + 1 hour virtual program supportWednesday Onsite at 7:00am PST for 7 hours + 1 hour virtual program supportThursday Onsite at 7:00am PST for 6 hours + 2 hour virtual program support

Responsibilities

Provide triage, first-aid, education and/or escalation of care if neededFacilitate on-going communication with all parties involved in managing an injury caseSupport the injured employee, monitor medical care, promote efficient reporting, and participate in accident investigationAssist in finding temporarily modified work in compliance with physical restrictionsHelp employees prevent repetitive, cumulative and overuse type musculoskeletal injuries and illnessesConduct ergonomic analyses in order to provide recommendations on vehicle set up, work posture, tool use, and workstation modificationsProvide on-the-job education and coaching to help workers achieve and maintain physical resilience through optimizing body mechanics and postural habitsAssist employees in achieving sustained lifestyle improvements in areas such as nutritional health, physical fitness, and stress managementAddress and mitigate risks related to workers’ total health, therefore reducing the risk of job-related injuries and illnessesDevelop job-specific agility routines and programs to be implemented in a preventative method a.k.a. Work Hardening.Minimize risk of injury through awareness, education, ergonomic recommendations, and first-aidProactively engage with employees at their work locationMaintain records of triage, ergonomic assessment, first-aid care, and education providedGain full understanding of the site operations, workflow, processes, and employees in order to make recommendations for preventing musculoskeletal injuries from occurringLeverage technology available to support total worker healthMay be asked to take on additional time to support emergency response to natural disasters in your regionWork in partnership with other WorkCare service lines (Incident Intervention, Onsite Clinics, etc.)Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field requiredMust hold CPR/First Aid certificationErgonomics experience is required, certification preferredValid Driver’s License and reliable transportation method

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in relevant fieldErgonomic CertificationBOC Certified AT, in good standingAt least 3 years’ relevant experienceExperience in industrial/occupational health, orthopedics, and wellness is a plus

Computer Skills

Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) and have the ability to learn new software as needed

Additional Job Information

This is a hybrid position that will work onsite a minimum of 20 hours per week and the remaining hours will be performed virtually supporting the virtual Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist/Incident Intervention line.The salary range is $36.00-$44.00 per hour.
