As our platform data stack evolves and our product suite broadens, we need to build a monetization engine that connects the dots between product architecture and pricing schemes.That’s where you come in.As Head of Monetization - Platform & Data, you’ll build bridges between our Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to successfully position and price our platform & data products as a cost-efficient alternative to “big iron” data & analytics products. You will leverage research on customer use cases to drive technical conversations with product leadership and ensure our product architecture delivers on these use cases in the most cost efficient way. In addition, you’ll derive the ideal pricing structure that is both highly intuitive and clearly showcases how we deliver exceptional value to our customers.You will love this role if you bring deep SaaS pricing expertise, are comfortable discussing technical infrastructure, and have a knack for product messaging and positioning.This position sits within our marketing organization and reports directly to our VP of Marketing. It’s based in our San Francisco or New York office.What you will doBe the in-house monetization expert and define our data stack pricing across customer segments. Ensure pricing schemes are aligned with where customers find value.Own the technical modeling of pricing & costing analytics to optimize customer adoption and monetization of new platform & data products.Design and execute quantitative pricing and customer research studies and apply group-based research methods (e.g. cluster analysis, conjoint studies).Leverage your knowledge of price points and technical infrastructure to steer architecture decisions in discussions with product leadership.Track competitor monetization strategies and ensure Rippling’s data stack is positioned and priced competitively.Identify new packaging and bundling opportunities to simplify sales motion, increase sales productivity, and market penetration.Partner with Rippling’s Sales team to ensure messaging around data stack pricing is aligned with customer use cases and positioned competitively as an alternative to “big iron” business intelligence and data stacks.Present findings and recommendations to C-suite in a clear and concise manner.What you will need8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, pricing strategy & operations, or monetization strategy. Deep familiarity across pricing models including value-based and usage-based pricing.Thorough understanding of the modern data stack with extensive experience in discussing the technical details of data infrastructure, data consumption, and data application layers.Experience with advanced statistical analysis across BI tools.A true buyer’s mindset with an understanding of where customer value is created.Proven ability to translate product, customer, and market insights into crisp pricing & monetization strategies.Superb collaborator and project owner. From Day 1, you’ll need to align technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams with competing priorities.Bias for speed. We move very quickly, and will expect you to set a similar pace for the teams you’re working with.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
