The future is yours at Ulta Beauty.GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPEThe District Manager (DM) is responsible for leading through Ulta Beauty’s strategic plan and mission, vision, and values to develop high performing teams that consistently deliver top-line sales growth for each store in the DM’s district. This leader drives their business through a focus on performance, people, and process for the region.PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
*(Essential Job Functions)The DM is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position:PerformanceProvide directional leadership, expectations, and priorities derived from the company’s strategic plan to each store team in the district.Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals related to retail and service sales.Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control for the DM’s district.Review and analyze Ulta Beauty’s financial and/or operational reports regularly for the DM’s district.Address underperforming metrics for stores in the DM’s district to drive profitability.PeopleAttract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.Address policy violations with appropriate corrective action in accordance with Ulta Beauty’s policies.Build a highly engaged team that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand.Create an inclusive environment that encourages the growth and engagement of all associates.Lead all aspects of direct report development including training and performance reviews.Model a culture of open communication by sharing enterprise strategy with direct reports.Liaise between store staff, district leadership, and business partners.Build a guest-centric culture by ensuring the Guest Engagement Leader program is consistently executed.ProcessEnsure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.Regularly visit all stores in the DM’s district.Provide directional leadership to support the adoption of new initiatives and technology.Ensure the execution of all store tasks and communicate expectations.Continuously analyze performance relative to stores’ operational compliance.Develop strategies to leverage company tools to improve performance.React to the changing needs of the business with an entrepreneurial spirit.Communicate with and provide feedback to field and corporate leadership.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducationBachelor’s degree is preferred.Experience3-5+ years of fast-paced, multi-unit retail management experience.Financial management:
success with driving top-line sales and managing budgets.Retail management:
proven ability with achieving operational excellence.Leadership management:
solid experience with attracting and developing top talent.SkillsProficient with basic technology (e.g., Microsoft Office programs).Excellent written and verbal communication.Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.Ability to react under pressure and be flexible/adaptable.SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTSAbility to travel up to 75% of your time, including overnight stays.Means of mobility for travel within district.Maintain valid identification for airline travel.Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule.Ability to relocate for future growth is preferred.WORKING CONDITIONSFrequent use of a computer and related office supplies.Frequent sitting and twisting.Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.Continuous mobility throughout the store during a store visit.Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.If an associate has a disability that prevents them from performing an essential function of the job, the Company will engage in the interactive process with the associate to determine reasonable accommodation.
