The Department of Women’s Studies in the College of Arts & Letters at San Diego State University is accepting applications for their part-time lecturer pool. We welcome applications from prospective temporary faculty with expertise or experience in teaching courses in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. The Department offers a variety of courses within the field and is seeking lecturers especially for our commonly offered classes:WMNST 101: Gender, Self, Identity & SocietyWMNST 102: Women: Images and IdeasWMNST 103: Women and Global JusticeWMNST 336: Women of Color in the USWMNST 341A: Women in American History: From Colonization to 1860WMNST 341B: Women in American History: From 1860 to the PresentWMNST 352: Women in LiteratureWMNST 360: Women’s Sexuality and the BodyWMNST 370: Women Law and PolicyWMNST 382: Gender, Science, and TechnologyTemporary appointments may be either full- or part-time. Appointments from the part-time pool are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available on very short notice. The Fall term begins mid-August and ends late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, to be renewed contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continuing availability of work. Applications will remain in our applicant pool during the academic year you apply.Qualifications
CriteriaAt minimum a graduate degree in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies or related field.University teaching experienceExperience in individualized instruction from an intersectional and/or transnational perspectiveApplication Instructions
